It was working fine, then I rebooted the computer and it came up all vertical lines. I tried a different computer and I get the same thing. When I hit the setup for the OSD it comes up with the same lines.

I have the LCD in a frame so that none of the fragile components are in harms way. I bought it a while back but it only has an hour or two of use.

Is it the LCD? Is it the controller? Anyone had this happen?

sounds to me like an FFC problem. those things are crazy fragile. i haven't had that happen to me but people have suggested lightly massaging the FFC's to see if it's a loose connection somewhere.

The LCD is in a frame so that the FFC's that connect to the glass are supported. I am sure they did not move. The only other FFC is the main connect to the board. I tried reconnecting it, but I had no sucess. I have built several projectors and never had a problem. I am begining to understand the pain of others who have a LCD go bad. I think I might get out of the DIY projector building.

Try hooking it up to another source, other than a PC - like a stand-alone DVD player. It might be your VGA cable.
The only other thing I can think of is a wire might have pulled out of your LVDS cable connecting the LCD to the Controller.

No such luck. Looks like it is toast. Anyone know how to tell which part is defective? Is it the LCD or the controller?

I just got back into town. I tried hooking it up. I get a solid blue screen. When I hit the menu I get a light green band from top to bottom.

It is almost like it has lost the vertical hold.

I think it is the controller. Does anyone have a working controller they want to sell? Please let me know.

Thanks,
Bob
