I mentioned in my previous post that there was an explosion at on of the data centers of our webhost: The Planet. It affected 9,000 servers. Most of those are back online.. including us (for now). Our server is on the first floor of The Planet's H1 datacenter. This is where the explosion was. They have us and the rest of the first floor (about 3,000 servers) running on a temporary generator for right now. The last I heard they're expecting the proper gear to be delivered at the end of the week. I have no idea how long it will take them to install it.
Yesterday (Tues) the temporary generator went down. We were offline for most of the day. When we came back online the forums database was corrupt from the unexpected crash. There was no permanent damage and the database is repaired. The shopping cart was also affected.. but is working now. Hopefully things will continue to run smoothly. I will feel better when we're running on the proper gear again. I will let you all know when that happens.
