Hi,

I am building a WUXGA projector. I purchased the Pixelworks controller and the Samsung 15" WUXGA LCD. When I initially got the combination I plugged it all in and everything worked great.

Then I stripped my LCD out very carefully and thus no longer needed the backlight for the LCD. I noted that without the backlight circuit plugged in, the controller wouldn't work right anymore. So I bypassed the backlight board and plugged in a 12V source right to the controller board.

The board powers up (red standby light) comes on the contol board (the one with the buttons). I am even able to turn it on using the remote and also the power button on the actual control board. The LED turns green and flashes briefly. Also I can see the LCD itself flash dark really quick when I power up the board. Then the board stops responding to input and the LED turns red after about 15-20 seconds. I can't seem to access any menus or anything at the moment.

I have two questions.

1. Is there a manual or pinout for the correct voltages into the pixelworks controller?
2. Perhaps I need to provide some input to the VGA or HDMI port and try to switch the source?

If anyone has any tips or tricks to make the controller work without the backlight control board I would appreciate it.

My pixelworks functions fine with out any feeds, I just get the black wall and no signal in the corner. This leads me to believe that the lack of signal isn't contributing to your issue.
