Hey guys, I'm not sure what is causing this issue but I'm sure someone here has dealth with this problem.

Right now, from about the center of the screen to the bottom, the focus looks really clear and sharp, but from the center to the top is gradually gets blurry. If I adjust the triplet lens, I can make the top portion look crisp and clean but then the bottom of the screen is blurry.

I pushed and pulled on the fresnels but it does not have any effect on this focus problem. Just seems like the triplet lens is the only way to affect this problem. Any ideas?

This is an alignment issue. I had the same problem with my cardboard mock-up. Either one or all of your optics (light, fresnels or triplet) are out of alignment. Make sure that your fresnels and triplet are perpendicular (at a 90 degree angle) to your light path. You might also want to cut out a circle (the same size as your triplet) of white paper and tape it to the inside of your triplet and turn off your LCD. When you see a crisp image of your lamp's arc in the center the paper, you'll know it's in about the right spot.

BTW, what triplet are you using?

Thanks! I needed some input to get me jump started. I was pressing at different points on the fresnels and did not think that maybe all the components are not on a center axis. I also need to play around with lamp placement.

BTW, for all who come across this thread, I am using a 300W 120V Clear Incandescent bulb from Home Depot (paid about $3) while I make all my adjustments until I ready to put in the 400W metal halide. I am absolutely amazed at how well the 300W incandescent bulb does. I can't wait to see how well the picture looks with the real bulb. biggrin.gif

The triplet that I'm using is the PRO Lens from lumenlab.
