Hey,

I'm planning on building my own beamer, using a 10.9 HDMI-kit (16:9)

The idea is to place my beamer vertically behind my sofa, as shown in the PDF attached. Just after the triplet I'm putting a mirror to have the image bended 90° to the wall. The projection distance will be close to 460cm.

The projected image on the wall should be close to 120cm heigh, by approx 220cm , or max 140cm by approx 250cm.

Can someone help me out on wich fresnels and triplet I need ?

I've been doing some calculations using FocalCalc, but I don't get the result I'm looking for.

Can someone make some calculations on this. Maybe using FocalCalc tongue.gif

Thanx in advance for your help !!!

Well... if my calculations are correct, that's something like a 15 foot throw. The only way to get a throw/screen size like that would be to use the Pro lenses (or something comparable).

Here's what your FocalCalc should look like for that setup:

Split fresnels:

Unsplit fresnels:

FocalCalc, while not perfect, is pretty accurate with it's measurements.

The only way to get the screen size bigger would be to move the projector closer to the screen. If you're going to do that, you might as well go with the S15 lens kit and save yourself some money.

Here's what you'd be looking at with the S15 Kit:

16:9 screen
120cm hight / .496 = 241diag

241cm * .87 = 209cm

so your looking at a 120cm tall and 209 cm wide screen IF you want it 120cm in hight.
