System Shock is one of the best games ever produced IMHO. As with alot of older games it doesn't run on XP but luckily I found this site to where you can download a portable version 65megs that works beautifly. It's a game before the 3d processor days. It was made by the defunct company called Looking Glass Studios that also made System Shock 2, the Thief series, and many other great games. Many of the people from LGS help make Bio Shock that is dubbed the sprirital continuation of SS1 and SS2.

If your interested in playing SS1 here are the link below.

The HI RES patch is found HERE. It allows the game to run up to 1024X768 but does not have better textures or 3d support. It is a great improvement though. This game is old but the story line and game play is where it's at. I'm addicted all over again. See pic.

I will put this in the "GAMES that are better on a Projector " Thread but ask it here to.
Was wondering if the OP (GLAPPE) has played Deus Ex on the projector and if it was fun.
Also GLAPPE, if you have played Deus Ex how does it compare to System Shock ?

I can't compair Deus Ex since I never finished it and it was a long time ago but My co-worker loved it as much as I do SS1/SS2 so I will have to install it again. Wikipedia's writeup is impressive. Read it here.

Basically anything that has a draw distance (ex: gta4, draker fps's) I have a hard time playing it on because pjs suffer from contrast issues. and the first thing to go is shadow detail both on the brite whites and darker blacks. halo suffers as well as others. i cant wait to sysytem shoch though, cus it looks like they have a chunky bright color pallette. and the max res happpens to be my pjs native. score.

The high resolution patches are nice, but you really need the texture and AI high-res models to go with it:

These are for SS2 not SS1. There are no working graphical updates for SS1. Now SS2 has a ton of them and is an amazingly erie/envolving/fun game all on it's own.

Hi GLAPPE,
I have not played through Deus Ex or the SS1/2 but when the Projector is done these seem like good Projector games.
I brought up Deus Ex because I thought a System Shock fan might like it also and I wanted to know what you think of the game. We will have to compare notes after we both finish it.
To everyone else give these games a try and post back.
