I have a decent older Dell Inspiron 5100, but I have never had a battery for it just an empty slot in the side. I have been pricing out batteries and blink.gif WOW blink.gif and whos to say how "NEW" they are. Anyway I have looked at those external battery packs. They look pretty cool and seem like they last forever (20000 compared to 6500 amp hour) Since I am DIY at heart is there a possiblilty of going this way... 12V sealed battery wired in series with 8 volt (if they exsit) sealed battery maybe a voltage meter on it for a little wink.gif extra. It would be big I am sure unless I can find a slim line battery. I dont mind just having the wire go to my bag and have the batteries in there. Oh yeah on my Brick it outputs 19.6V but the battery that I would stick in its bay is 14.5V If you have any suggestions please let me know. Thanks

I have an evo n610c wich sounds similar to mine, I have a battery under the laptop and an on the side is a removable cd/dvd/battery slot go to ebay and find a used battery for the side of your laptop, you can then open it up if possable, wich mine can, remove the batterys and replace with the batteries of your choice. mine uses 14.4v or 12 revhargable AA bateries for mine. you could also creat your own battery pack as long as you know the voltage and use a connector radioshack C plug works great on my laptop. you can also use standard 1.5v if you do the calculations right. energizer lithum non rechargeables could pack a punch. radioshack or batteries plus may give you more options.

Yes I have looked into rebuilding a battery but this does not seem reasonable the cost of a used/dead battery and then the batteries and then to trying to weld/solder the batteries together plus I would like to get that LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG run time from something like this smile.gif
