Any Quentin Tarantino fans here?Kill Bill Vol.I & II are cinematic masterpieces in my opinion and beats others like the Godfather trilogy hands down.I never got to watch these in a movie theater but they are outstanding on my 5.1 home theater audio, although my DIY projector is still very much in the tweaking stages until my new screen arrives.I can't wait to watch this outside/backyard on a DIY big screen this Summer.
I've had this song in my head for 2 days now(EAR WORM!) and always considered Zamfir some weird dorky instrument player, until now.I know this song is'nt everybodys 'cup of tea' and maybe I'm just getting old but I love this song and was glad to find a video of Zamfir playing it on YouTube recently.

Anybody else think this is terrific/timeless music or am I turning into a dork? blink.gif

tarantino is my favorite. Pulp is my favorite but kill bill owns and listening to that had me turn kill bill on biggrin.gif

I really enjoyed reservoir dogs and I love pulp fiction.
The first downfall for me was, from dusk till dawn. Although i begin to enjoy the movie now.
But i really hate Kill Bill. Even the original lady snowblood is better.

i would have to say Tarantino for me has always been a sign of quality and have always enjoyed his movies. Unfortunately recently i saw "Death Proof" and would honestly have to say it is one of the worst films i have ever seen! I hope this is just a slip up and not a sign of his future films to come. ohnoes.gif

I watched Kill Bill I & II last night. Fantastic on the big screen. I hope the extended edition release is unrated and includes all, or at least most, of the movie in color. Also, I hope they take out that stupid "bleep" when they mention The Bride's name. That annoyed the hell out of me.

I liked From Dusk Till Dawn, as well, but it got pretty hokey towards the end.

I also liked Death Proof and, while you might not have liked it, it was 100 times batter than Planet Terror. That was one reeking pile of s**t!

hoagtech - IMDB Trivia: The tune whistled by Daryl Hannah's character in the hospital hallway is the same as that whistled by the strange young man in Twisted Nerve (1968). During his 1996 film festival in Austin, Texas, Quentin Tarantino screened Twisted Nerve.

this past semester some kid whistled that in the hallway at the dorms and i never knew who it was haha. If he was a bad whistler I would have told him to shut his mouth every time but it sounded good so it was alllll goood

Thanks for the great responses. Now I know I'm not the only one.

haogtech.....exactly.Its damn strange how just a good movie and its music will make a person think about life in general. For a long time after watching it.

xconverge....Tarantino is a genious in so many ways as a movie Director for sure. All of the sometimes -over the top- scenes probrably have been played out in one form or another in real life,I think.

g247...Reservoir Dogs is,well it was my favorite QT movie until I watched Kill Bill I & II .RD was blatant/brutal criminality with somewhat likable characters.Black Mamba had a worthy purpose in Kill Bill,in which she so excellently carried out with justice and honor.

teamwindsor....me too.I was disappointed to say the least.

Quasi_Mojo....I thought the black & white scenes and bleeps were very good. They just made the whole movie different.I don't know why.
From Dusk to Dawn is very fun to watch and I loved it the 1st time.and the last time I watched it.My old Dad looks just like Harvey Kietel..glasses and all.Everyday:).l especially have a great respect for Tom Savini in this movie. He IS after all,the Worlds foremost make-up artist for zombies, past and present !He's the guy with the 6-shooter in his crotch.

Planet Terror absolutely sucked,Death Proof was good until the LAME ending.Tarantino must have been smoking weed on this project.

I hope Tarantino continues to make movies that are worth watching and talking about. And that music from Kill Bill ....................

@lonewolfmichigan: you really hit the nail on the head there, its not the film that is overly bad (Death Proof), its just the worst ending i think i have ever seen. i don't want to spoil it for anyone who has never seen it and is getting round to it so will be vague. its almost like they had either run out of ideas, or money, or both and just decided to end it as fast as possible...in the most ridiculous way possible. dry.gif

Another honerable mention is Natural Born Killers. Terintino Actually wrote the script and the screenplay long before release before it was handed over and altered by Oliver Stone. it's funny cus you see a lot of similar camera techniques and film style shared between the two.
Rembrant
I like some of his work. Kill bill, The Protector. How about that 10 min fight scene where the camera never cuts away!! WOW! That was hard on everybody I assure you. Most people will mention that other film that has to many flip flops as his best though. I think if it wasn't for S. L. Jackson, that movie is a total waste. So +1 for awesome actors and - several million for good thinkin. He certainly takes genera films to the extreme. I can't watch the Grind House flicks though. I payed a lot of money for my viewing equipment! I don't want to be instantly transported back to the 70's.

EDIT: I want to see MACHETE! If you saw Planet Terror you'll know what I'm talking about.
hoagtech
cheech marin with a shotgun? count me in. is it even sold in normal video stores?

MACHETE is'nt a real movie.yet.It was Tarantino's unique way of exploiting the he-man movies of the 70's.I liked the part where MACHETE is in the pool with the 2 hotties though.

Danny Trejo
hoagtech
Ya but if you kept up on it, you wouldv'e heard that the popularity grew so much from the fake-o preview that terintino announced last year that he would be making this movie from the ground up with the same cast as in the phony preview. I guess it goes to show. If it's a good enough idea. It will be published.

If you liked kill bill peotic but brutal film style, Terantino's next film promises to not be "in yo face" cheese corn action. Its called inglorious bastards and will be his Pseudo-real take on war. He says he will stick to symbolism and reference instead of pouring buckets of blood on the screen. I can't wait it's been too long.
