My list was too hard to define, allot of these things blend together so it’s hard to separate them so here’s a brief list:

Lots of audio projects.
Robotics projects.
Automated Stage lighting and dimmer racks.
Programming
Computers
Projectors
Custom car restorations.
Chemical compounds that make loud noises
Lots of electronic projects
Renovations and building
More that I can’t think of at the moment.

well you take a 2 liter of soda, a small set of pluming - err - tubes and a couple caps. Put the customized pluming apporatice inside the 2 liter bottle tape with duct-tape and put the bottle in the refrigerator. run like hell and find a fox hole.

What a great idea! Hay, if you bent the edge down at 3 spots with pliers, the butts would have something to sit in. wink.gif

I am interested in your design for the pitching machine.
I would prefer to throw regular softballs though.
My daughter is in her first year of softball.

Actuall it was quite simple I used a leaf blower that I had and some pvc pipe with a T right after the blower part but it was only strong enough to shoot wiffle balls with softball it might be a little harder if its underhand slow pitch if its underhand fast pitch the the concept stays the same. Just take some PVC and adapt it to the leaf blower make sure you have the T so you can shove the balls in. Also the PVC needs to be big enough so the balls go thru it. laugh.gif
Hope that helps and post pics when you start on it.

4" an hour is pretty impressive! However, I've seen enough snow. I don't want any more.

The PVC loft bed looks awesome. I wonder what my wife would think of that...

I do a lot of DIY stuff, I'm naturally interested in stuff like that.
  • DIY audio amplifiers
  • DIY speakers
  • DIY projectors
All stuff that goes hand-in-hand with LL I suppose...
  • DIY Car speaker/amp rack
  • Furniture
Nothing spectacular...

For future consideration:
  • CnC machine. RoGR/MicRo? Probably used for other DIY projects.
I know there are a bunch of other things that I could probably list, but can't think of any at the moment.

Just some stuff in chronological order:

As a kid I did an endless number of diy projects. Here is some of them.
  1. Lots of tree houses.
  2. Very amateur rockets (most blew up rather than went up).
  3. Amplifyer (first time I electricuted myself).
  4. 2 way tricked out radio (we used to walk over the local taxi cab company).
  5. Potato guns (if you haven't done one, then you're not a true DIYer).
  6. A variety of spy gadgets (audio and video).
  7. Go carts,
  8. Smoke bombs and stink bombs ( Non destructive, but a great way to clear a school bus).

As an adult the list continues.
  1. More potato guns (teaching the next generation).
  2. Battle bot (made with one of my sons as a school project).
  3. Projector (works but a work in progress),
  4. Castle for my kids (and me),
  5. Dozens of PCs (many of them overclocked)
  6. Altar-rail and pews for my church,
  7. 4' high 8' wide 1/2 pipe (made with my youngest),
  8. Endless home remodeling jobs.

Future Plans
  1. Finish building my new workshop.
  2. More home remodeling jobs.
  3. Install a cistern in my current house.
  4. Build an electric biycle.
  5. Mess around with solar energy.
  6. Build more potato guns (for the grand children).
  7. Build a CNC router setup.
  8. Build a small boat.
  9. Build an off-grid cottage somewhere.
  10. Die old and happy surrounded by loved ones and many unfinished projects.

1. Various instruments/gadgets when I was real young.

2. Trebuchet Iteration 1 | worked alright

3. Swords of various shapes, sizes and quality

4. Sail for an inflatable boat. It almost worked. rolleyes.gif

5. Trebuchet Iteration 2 | with an old V8 engine block as a counterweight, it worked good!

6. Pontoons for a canoe | I got tired of flipping over.

7. Ballistae

8. Tesla Coil

9. My Bedroom

I bought some pumpkins for the kids from a large pumpkin patch. Talking to the farmer, I suggested he set up some sort of pumpkin toss competition for the left over pumpkins (a couple of thousand) this lead to a discussion of catapults, trebuchets, and over-sized potato guns. He might try it next year just for a laugh. If he does I might try building a compressed air pumpkin launcher.
