I was going to buy a refurbished BenQ.. Yesterday they were in stock for $231. Today they are $244 and out of stock. I decided I was tired of waiting so I bought a liquid Video E15LCD1 400:1 25ms. $229 at CC after rebates. I stripped it and found a problem.. here is a picture.. IS this what is meant by FCC issues? It seems I can't fold the side board out of the way without an extension. Is this type of extension available from Lumanlab?
Pics.

looks like the same angled FCC that i have on my old compaq tft500. you would need to get a much larger and clearer picture of that FFC. also, disconnect the cable from the connector and count how many connectors it has.

Dr Bev,
I can't seem to figure this camera out. I can't get a good focused close up of anything. I could easily count the wires but whats more important, assuming I could get an extension, what do I do with the side mounted board? I guess I would just have to mount it to the side of the box? I've just never seen this on any of the DIY projectors out there. Do they all have the side mounted board?

Try taking an overview picture, so we can see the relationship of the boards to each other and the LCD. That is, step back several feet away (like you're taking a picture of a person), and zoom in just enough to see the entire board layout.
When you're trying to take the close-up picture, look for a button with a flower on it. Usually you have to press that before it can focus on the really close-up objects.

i have this same monitor LQ Vid E15LCD1 Looking at it from the back the top of the screen has a long control board mounted with FFC and on the right side with a small FFC jumping Between the 2 boards theFFC is .33 Inch wide which Is 8.382 MM
and it has 16 connections on it .
Idont think it would be hard to extend the cables provided we can find it
but you need to look at the power supply board and the Lcd control board because the power cord and the VGA will stick straight up also the power supply and the control board are connected with an ata style 14 pin and socket conection
Ps anyone know where i can get the 8.382MM 16 connection FFC

[edit/BC Post modified, illegal] I bought a compaq FB5017 with a bad backlight (Pretty certian) I know this monitor works for DIY but needs one extension (which I've located). I paid $65 for it.

great price on that LCD!
as for taking closeup shots, from what i've learned, you need a camera that has a "macro" setting. this allows extreme closeup shots.
hope this helps.

I have no idea what this means. Why was my post edited/?
I forget what I posted.
Dr Bev,
Thanks for the hint. My camera was really cheap.. like $100-$150... about the panel, I just hope it's only the backlight... he side it lights up for two seconds and then turns dim.It sounds like the light to me.

Brain,
As far as the extension goes.. Do I need anything other than the extension, like connecting ends or anything.. or does the extensions you sell come with everything needed to do the job?

Don't look at it that way. I was just kind enough to make sure all the connections were intact... It passed my inspection and the next owner should feel confident that everything has been double checked.
