Well this question has been bothering me for quite some time now, can a backlight used in TFT monitor be powered without the use of the monitors power supply? Externally

Any help or comments would be appreciated... laugh.gif

Come on! Someone has to know the anwer!? I would guess that Monitor Backlights run 80Vac, but that would'nt be nothing easy to input would it?

Well, anyones knows why backlights come with 4 wires (2live 2neutral), it seems a bit odd to me!? huh.gif

Two wires means it has 2 -ccfl's and probably a two-in-1 inverter.
