Call me a noob but i've been reading the forums for over a month and i'm pretty sure i know the answer but. I know the Fresnel's have a spiral like pattern. I know the hole were the triplet goes has to line up to the lamp arc. Does the center of the frenels have to be dead center with the triplet? does the LCD have to be dead center with the fresnels? Is a a few MM going to make a huge impact? Just making sure before i start putting things together. Got the LCD stripped and put into a wood frame. The 3/4" MDF box is bloddy heavy so i think i might buy some 1" X 1" and build a frame and get some 1/4" MDF as the walls instead. Will see. Should be alot lighter.

The fresnels aren't spiral but rather concentric circles. Not important but now you know.

It is best to shoot for the highest degree of precision you are able when aligning the centerpoints of all components. A millimeter you don't have to sweat but anything more you can reasonably eliminate so just do it that way.

Check out the info on lens shifting, etc. (like here) to come up to speed on what can be done with shifting things around.

I think this design idea will be a big improvement in the weight of the frame.
