Out of interest, the following item supposedly does 16 million colours and 800x600 resolution. Would it be good enough to watch a DVD on? (Are the refresh rate of these things fluid enough?)

thats a pretty relative question. It depends on what your used to, and what you consider good-enough. From specs alone, it certainly will be "watchable" IMHO. Maybe close to the quality of a HAMI or Lilliput build.

Also, your light source and optics will have an equal or greater part in your final result. Are you going to use an OHP, or build your own box diy style?
