Hello everyone,

Currently I have an OHP projector (Medium OHP 2036), I quite satisfied with this one but I still want to improve the bulb life since I have the OSRAM halogen bulb with it specification as follow:

Socket : G 6.35 Technology : Halogen
Lumen : 14500 lm
: 400 W
Voltage : 36 V
Life : 150 h

Another lamp I want to ask: lamp: 150W G12 type

or: http://www.atlantalightbulbs.com/ecart/10E...MH150.T.830.G12

I see both of the lamps had bi-pin (2 pin) connector and the adv of 150W G12 metal halide lamp is that it has long life (over 5000hrs or more).

My question is: Is it possible to replace G6.35 type bulb by G12 type bulb?

Any advice or suggestion are more welcome.

Thank in advanced.

Absolutely you can replace the 400W halogen with a 150W MH lamp. You remove the transformer for the halogen, and replace it with a 150W MH ballast. Replace the lamp socket with an appropriate one, and you're done.

No, you cannot run the 150W MH lamp on the 36V halogen system.
