Being notorious for wanting to do things well, but not expensively, I went hunting for the CheMei monitors in their various forms. Most overseas companies sell their stuff as another name in the US. Well I think I found them.

The Amptron series of monitors, in all their glory, seem to be the exact same thing as the monitors listed on the Che Mei site....but wait! It gets better!

Check out the model numbers of the various LCDs and then try an Amptron search on Pricewatch. Look at the catalog numbers they use for the stock. Nearly all of them are just the Che Mei model numbers. You can get a 15 inch for 235$ and a 17 inch for 272$.

Now for the big question....I know the CT522a ( AKA CMV CT529's brother) strips well, but does the 17 inch series have the same stripability?

Has anyone tried this?
