I happened to come across this on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/Region-Free-MPEG4-MP4-...1QQcmdZViewItem

There are about ten of them, so just search ebay for that same title.

The nice thing is that it has a vga output (for all of the projectors with only vga input)

Just to let you know though, they kill you on shipping ($50)

Hope this helps someone.

Chinese knock-offs sold by a seller with poor feedback.
All I can say is buyer beware.

it would be a much safer bet to go with the Helios H400, or the rather sexy looking H200 for only 99$!!!

I have had the H400 for over a year, and it hasnt given me a single problem.

wouldnt it be better to just buy a transcoder so you could use a dvd player, game console, or whatever has component out?

Its a bit subjective, but there have been claims that transcoders rob contrast...

It's definitely dependent on what brand and model unit you get, but I would tend to agree. With what I've seen, they do reduce the amount of black level you can get. However, we also don't know for sure that the Helios is any better without some first hand experience. I would assume it's got a graphics processor capable of reproducing excellent contrast just as a PC would, but until we get some direct use out of one, it's only speculation.
