I had really been hoping to purchase an eVo or a FAVI projector with my tax rebate/stimulus money.

But I just found that RetailAce isnt' selling the Favi any more, and that Lumenlabs sold out of just about all of their refurbs, news, and DIY broken stuff.

I really wish I could "build" my own projector, but I would perfer the "model kit" approach to doing it if I could. Namely all the parts I need are included (screen and heat shield included), just need it all put together.

Does anyone know if there are any good sub-$500 projectors if I wouldn't be able to procure an eVo or FAVI?

The auction you listed is already ended, and they list no more FAVI 1030 or 1040 projectors in their ebay store, regardless of the country.

Just got an email back from the favi guys and they said they're running behind and the HD projectors won't be ready for another 3-4 weeks from today. They wouldn't give me a price.
