Im lookin to upgrade to a 720p/1080i projector with in the next few months, but i use my projector as my main TV so its on for a pretty good while most of the time. So it scares me to buy one that only lasts 2000 hours or something... i want something thats like my EVO.. so i dont have to feel guilty playing my games all night or something, any ideas? im willing to spend around 700 dollars.

Ya bulb life has scared me too and I'm looking at moving up to commercial soon. As far as budget 720 projectors.. they all seem to have the same number of hours to me you can just go with a cheaper bulb. if you want to go LCD over DLP there's a Benq W500 I think that the lamps are 250 bucks for which is a lot better than the 300-400 most are that I've seen. Its still standard 2000 hours, 3000 in eco but if you're used to an evo the eco will probably be plenty bright. So I'd assume getting around 2,250-2,500 out of it anyways if you keep it in eco most likely. Maybe someone with more RL exp would disagree though.

You should consider the Epson Powerlite 77c. its XGA, so you won't get 720p, but downscaled to 576p, which is still very good for HD material. The lamp prices are 199 (which is the lowest anywhere), and last 4000hrs.

LL was briefly selling commercial projectors that they had said were the best value.

Among those was the Panasonic PT-LB51U.

Here's some comparison shopping through Pricegrabber.com - least expensive price: $699.00

Here are the specs.

You can get a replacement 165W UHM lamp for around $270.00.

Some people have been discussing the FAVI 1040 over in the eVo section. While it's not a 720p projector, replacement lamps are only about $30 - $50.
