I have read that VGA (normal blue cable) does the job with no noticable degradation!
But I was wondering, I use a 15.4" screen with MST controller (all the input plugs are available, but HDMI is for the PS3).
My graphic card has 2 DVI-i and component available!
The proejctor will be at 20' far from the PC so I ll need a 25' cable !

monoprice has really nice prices, but I was wondering what should I get to have the best quality from my PC !

DVI-i converter to VGA, with VGA 25' cable ?
or component 25' cable ?
I want my PC to be able to send 1080P signal. Of course, not through HDCP tongue.gif
Someone can help me on that ?
I was about to buy the VGA cable, but maybe the component will be best for 1080P !!
and as there is 2 set of component, and only 1 VGA from the MST controller, that will leave VGA connection for a laptop, but if the VGA has a betetr quality, I'll go with it and screw the laptop tongue.gif
Tkx a lot !

not 100% sure, but since component and VGA carry the same analog signal, i'm gonna assume signal degradation would be pretty much the same.

That s what I though too .. but why is there 15 pin on a VGA a only 3 on component (2 each so 6 in total)!

That s why I asked smile.gif as I can't find any "real" answer on the forum right now, this will be handy !

go here for the VGA pinout

VGA doesn't send a discrete signal through each pin.

Ho !
So I guess there are both the exact same thing !
Except that VGA has Vsync and Hsync !

So I guess VGA is still the best ?
