First of all I want my computer to display over my projector for certain content. I would normally just use my set-top DVD player, but some stuff I just don't want to bother burning to DVD just to see it once. I'm also wanting to incorporate OTA HD programming where I can watch them over the projector as well. Here's a list of equipment that I'm working with.

InFocus IN72 - It says it supports higher rez on the spec sheet, but I couldn't get anything to work from HDMI out from PC to HDMI in to projector. So I was thinking about using S-video over to a auto-changing signal box, then up to the projector. It states on the back of the machine it is EDTV so it might not do anymore more than that, even with interpolation. Hey, what do you expect for a $350 sticker price? My only concern is how much the S-video would make my picture quality suffer...

AVerMedia HDTuner - Haven't bought, but leaning toward this unless I find something better, and possible adding another card for dual ATSC tuners.

PC should be good enough

Processor: AMD 5000+ (oc'ed @ 3ghz)
Memory: Corsair XMS2 4x1gb
Graphics: MSI NX8800GT OC
Hard Drive: WD 2x320gb in RAID0

I'm doing Digital Coaxial audio out of the motherboard and into my Bose receiver so that should be pretty straight forward. I just want to get some opinions to see if the 480i projector is going to handle anything I'm wanting to do.

No it won't, 480i will look terrible, try something such as the Favi 1040 if you're wanting to keep costs down.

[edit] maybe I was harsh, if you're happy with it's resolution, it's a fine projector, but i'f spend a little bit more for better resolution (you really need it on a big screen). smile.gif

It's okay, that's your opinion and you are entitled to it. I'm not looking to buy anything extra besides the TV tuner card(s). I just want to know if they will be able to be displayed on a 480i display from S-video out of the tuner. The reason I ask this is because of my HDMI issues. I thought it would work just fine, but just not give the total quality. It turns out the HDMI wouldn't work because the computer only outputs 480p and higher so it didn't work at all, and that's what I'm trying to prevent before I dump money into the tuner cards. I understand the image quality will be less, but honestly it's a great projector considering it's cost. The colors are bright and it gives a great picture. I just use it to watch DVDs currently, but I was wanting to put more use to it. Since there are no resolutions ratings I have seen for s-video I think it will work fine. I just thought I would ask someone experienced with this area more than I.

[EDIT]I might add I run dual monitors, so using one of the DVI outs on my graphics cards is out of the question. There still is an s-video output on it. I've been noticing that the TV tuner cards only have inputs on them. It seems like there would be outputs on the tuner cards.[/EDIT]
