Is it an OHP overhead projector or a regular projector ?
If it is an OHP you need an OHP lcd like the Sharp QA 2500 or Proxima Ovation 920 / 944 :

All of the plans here use panels that are natively VGA, some use controller boards of HTPC's to add other inputs, but all can natively support a SVGA input.
