Here's an idea to use this R2D2 "waste basket" as a DIY Projector enclosure.
Only $148.00

The measurements are: 16" wide, 24" tall, 12" deep.
You could probably get away with using a 12.1 LCD or smaller.

That would be awesome! If LL wants to get "diggs" this would be a very good way to get the word out.

Perhaps that's just the thing to get Tappan. cracking again on this idea.

I am actually in the middle of building an R2D2 projector.

The waste basket won't work. I have one and it is way to small. A 7" screen is the largest that would work and then you would need a 180mm collimator fresnel and a 180mm collector fresnel and triplet.
Not very easy to make it work.

I am actually using a 10.6" Lcd and this :

It is a R2D2 cooler.

I will post a Plog when I am finished.

How about someone try something nostalgic and go with the big ‘Rob’ way back called "Lost in Space"?

Other 'Robs' builds

alright sensibull... I'll get on it soon. I've got two more weeks out of town and then I'll start back up. The only thing I'm lacking is a light source.

I actually know someone who made an R2D2 bot with a computer built inside it, along with the thing actually being able to move around via remote control. mabye a projector can be another idea for his r2d2?

in fact, I found this article about it:
