I'm sure everyone is already talking about this, but I can't find any posts.

What's with the backordering? I"ve been holding out for a long time on the 17"+ kits..

Thanks

If you're not comfortable waiting, you can certainly find the required parts through some simple Google searching.

Oh no don't get me wrong.. its a long term project for me.. I'm just curious.. is it a problem with the manufacturer? Distributor?

I am curious. How long does it usually take this stuff? I ordered the S15 lens kit about feb. 25th, said it was backordered, would be in the 28th. Check back the 28th, says March 8th. Check back today, still backordered, still says 8th. I am getting a little anxious. I can live with it being backordered, as I understand the small company deal. I am part of a 4 employee business. I ordered a riding jacket from a motorcycle forum/small business, and had to wait over a month. I am starting to get a little wary of purchasing from small businesses, even though I am part of one.

I will tell you when I placed my order (no backordered items), the communication, notification emails, and speed of delivery was leaps and bounds above many corporations I have bought from. Just my $.02

Now it is up to March 19TH...sad.gif O well. I guess every company has unwanted holdups, et cetera, sometimes. I just wish I had a set date I could count on.

Well hold ups happen, especially when dealing on an international level, international shipping, customs, local shipping, etc. dry.gif wacko.gif . Its not like they can drive to Raleigh and pick'm up.

Bennie and I have been in constant communication about my order (mega kit), just touching base, adjustments to the order and he is by far one of the most professional csr I have talked of any company I have been in contact with. Yes you could google and piecemeal the parts together - or - you can wait and know your getting a "tried and true" package deal from a company we all know, knows diy pj inside and out. Not to mention purchasing from LL you help keep this forum alive, which is an awesome resource from which I have learned a lot from the outstanding community here.

Ditto. LL Forums are critical to the DIY PJ. You know I've googled a few places to try to find the parts but I usually get Chinese manufacturers that have a hazy desc. of the product, or I just can't find anything at all. I'd much rather wait for LL to get the goods. smile.gif

I understand that, I just wish I knew exact dates, and that it didn't change everytime it reaches the previous date. This seems to happen to me a lot, so I am just getting frustrated. I ordered a chandelier for my wife last Friday, I get an e-mail yesterday saying Thanks, but its backordered til May 25th...thats over 2 months. Before that it was a car stereo I bought for her, had to wait 3.5 months for... I guess I came across too strongly, and I didn't mean too. This forum is a great resource, and I am greatful for it, and I am also willing to support it, which is why I purchased from here. I suppose the waiting will give me time to get everything else in order.

Thats a rather odd string of events blink.gif I can understand your frustration, I'd feel the same I'm sure. My pj is pretty much on hold until I get the parts for final measurements. That said I am working on its mount, the hole in the ceiling to place said mount, and to top it off I just dropped the remainder of my pj budget to the vet to save this old man.

gotta love boxers!

Well, for the lenses and fresnels, these are sourced from China. There is, therefore, a fairly long lead time between when LL places an order, and the stuff arrives, seeing as how it's gotta come by boat. I'm sure that there are other delays introduced at customs

I think your feeling may be right: according to the new Blog-item 21 is probably gonna be D-Day for the backorders.
