That depends on what you would like to do.

That is higher than DVD resolution, so if all you do is watch DVDs it'll be fine (for the most part).

If you want to watch high definition stuff you'll probably want a higher resolution. The 3 main HD resolutions are 720p (which is 1280 x 720), 1080i (1920 x 540), and 1080p (1920 x 1080).

For computer type stuff I'd say 1280 x #### (1024/800/768/720/whatever) is a good place to start, but 1024 x 768 would be OK.

Have they actually rleased the next model. Of yur referring to the Favi 1030, it's native resolution is 800x600 but will upscale to 1024x768. smile.gif

Actually, the FAVI will downscale the resolution to the panel's native resolution of 800 x 600. This means you can input a 1080i signal but it will only appear at 800 x 600. It should still look better than actual 800 x 600 media, from what I hear.

He did ask about a 1040 and it looks like they sell it for $499. It says it's native xga 1024x768 but looks like it's also only 4:3 on a 7" panel. I'm sure the 1030 says it's 16:9 and 4:3 switchable but it's svga. They also upped the lamp on the 1040 to 170 watts from the 150 watt lamp in the 1030.

Should be pretty good for standard tv source.
