After much cursing and bruised knuckles, I finally found a way to deal with those nasty aluminum rivets inserted in automated manufacturing. The easiest way I found was to drill them out. With aluminum, the metal is so soft, it seperates nicely. Just insert the drill bit into the outer hole of the rivet, then push gently, using a drill bit just slightly larger than the hole. Voila!

Yup, definitely a good way. I bet it comes in handy when you're taking apart computer cases eh?

If I remember correctly you only need to drill into the rivet, right? I mean: you've only have to drill through like, 1/64 of an inch of aluminum to separate the 2 pieces.
