I've been looking for a cheap component to vga box, and thought I'd found something good when I found the "TV Box HD" here: http://www.amazon.com/Stand-alone-Tuner-Re...2559&sr=8-9

It claims to support up to 1680x1050, and goes on to say how you will be able to "watch TV programming on your VGA LCD monitor at much higher resolutions than standard definition TV.Watch TV likenever before! You can also connect a gaming console or other A/V deviceand speakers for use as a Hi-Fi center"

The name "TV Box HD" and that description are incredibly misleading. The component input is only compatible with 480i inputs, I tried 480p, 720p, 1080i, and 1080p over component via a ps3, and none of them worked. Frustrated, I consulted the poorly translated instruction manual, which told me that the component is only 480i compatible! THATS NOT HD! What kind of "HD" tv box is this?? Anyway, I will be attempting to return this, and I hope no one else buys this product expecting actual HD resolutions.

caveat emptor..

If you're feeling generous, you might want to leave a review on Amazon voicing your opinion.

I often go to Amazon for product reviews - even if I don't plan on buying from Amazon.
