Right above the space I am going to mount my PJ is a cold air return, SHOULD I, COULD I, place my fans on top of the PJ box and vent this exhaust into my C/A return? Would it conceal the niose? Anyone else try this?

That really wouldent work,The cooling circuit is designed to pass cool outside air evenly over the LCD panel. If you were to reverse it like your talking about it would pull all the hot air directly over the LCD.Bad thing, very bad thing.

I do not think he is intending to reverse the direction of air... instead of placing the fan on the back of the lighting section of the box i believe he wants to put it on the lid of the lighting section of the box (blowing hot air into the CA return).... still sucking hot air out and bring cool air over the lcd.

To me I do not see nothing wrong with this.. But I am by no means any expert on air flow/cooling/etc... Seen a few others with fans on top and appear to work though.

Take care!

I think that would address the problem of room heating that the 400W lamp of our projectors cause. I don't think it will help much with sound... most of that will come from the enclosure acting as a resonator for the fans. The best thing for that is to insulate the fan mounting from the wood of the enclosure as much as possible... rubber, felt, etc.

ya, my projector gained 5hp from installing that, im planning on turbocharging it with twin HKS 2350 ball bearings next for more power, hopefully ill hit 25psi on race gas!
