These lines change colors depending on what is displayed and sometimes part of the line goes away. The LCD is brand new and the fccs haven't been touched. Could this be a cable problem or something that can be fixed?

Do you have a bigger picture? I can't quite make out each individual sub pixel.

An easy way to rule out a cable is to try another.

Does anything happen if you gently tap on that edge (near the top and bottom) of the LCD?

Just an FYI: I see those types of lines on my 12.1 LCD, too.
But then again, I see dead people, as well.

I've tried pressing all around and they won't go away. Unfortunately I don't have another lvds to test.

Quasi Mojo where are the lines on your screen? Mine is one of the cloudy backlight screens do you have the same?

Mine are on the same side as yours.
I, also, tried gently rubbing the area to no effect.
And, yes, I purposely bought a "cloudy" LCD as it wouldn't matter in a projector build, anyway.
