I can't see any cables - how is that done? You can even see the back of one of the subs in the second picture, and its wire terminals, not connected to anything.

And all those amps don't seem to have cables anywhere near them!

All they need now is a Q ;-)

Coming from someone who builds Custom Home Theaters for a living I've gotta say - I saw this in the printed edition of Audio Video Interiors. It's impressive to me only in its shear size and cost but otherwise, I don't really like it. Excess for the sake of excess isn't impressive to me.

I didn't really look in to much detail at most of the pictures, but I also noticed the sub with no wires visible to the terminals on the back.
I assumes since he goes to extremes, that he may have taken the wires out a less obvious path, like out through the bottom of the enclosure by modifying it.
Maybe that's one way he hides the wiring. Of course the particular sub we are talking about sits on top of another, so maybe wiring for both is presented on the bottom one only.
I just looked again, and I think I see wiring on the floor to the right side of the pictures leading towards some of the speakers.

I looked and looked, but I could never see the wiring to those McIntosh amps.

It looks to me as if the image being projected onto the screen is photoshopped in. It just doesn't seem to match with the rest of the picture...

Its a very common practice in the industry. They'll take a picture with the lights out to give a nice projected image, then they'll take a picture with the lights on to get a good shot of the room. Then they photoshop them together to make the good image appear as though it was being projected in the fully lit room.

They rationalize this deception by saying that at least the two images are actual images taken on site and that they did not just photoshop in a random screen image like they do in the TV ads in the newspaper circulars...

Yeah, that thing is retarded.

I have serious doubts that there is any photoshop work done there.

His primary projector is a Professional grade (not commercial) Sony large venue projector that runs nearly $100,000 per unit and has 4 times the resolution of 1080p.
The lumen rating on this thing is 10,000.
I just read this projector weighs 200 pounds, The imaging engine is only 1.5"!

The Zoom lenses that you can buy for these as accessories are $17,000-$20,000 items just by themselves.

The brochures are a good read for a very high end projector.
I gotta get one of these.

I have almost no doubt that that image is retouched in some form - long exposure or photoshop, etc but definately not a typical "point and click" shot.

I must agree that this setup is ridiculous. I'm quite sure a visually*/audibly indistinguishable experience could be had for less than 100k. people who spend money like this are stupid.

* speaking of the picture quality, not the pretty hardware/arrangement.

The seats are on the floor, not centred to the screen, the place doesn't look like a cinema, has about 30 too many speakers, & if he's going to all those lengths & costs why not hire a projectionist & use a 35mm film projector.

He's not got an Xbox360 either, what a shame.

well my first reaction was "damn, why didnt he put some of that money into charity," but then you start to think, well, he could just sit on the cash, or invest it and get himself richer, instead of injecting it back into the suffering economy by buying equipment, paying labourers to install it, maintaining the projector, paying for electricity to run it all, etc etc. i guess that's better than nothing.

it is nothing more than a terrible collection of piss poorly matched, amazing equipment
