I have a 53" Sony CRT RPTV that has a hazy area on the lenticular side of the fresnel screen. I can still see through it ok, but it is darker in the cloudy area. I can't really tell what is on it, or how it got there since it is on the side sandwiched against the front screen. I tried taking the screen off and cleaning it, first with soap and water (no effect), then with anti-glare glasses cleaner (no effect) and finally with Windex Vinegar which had a slight effect, but not much. Is there any way to get the lenticular side really good and clean? Or if not, is there anywhere that I can get a replacement fresnel for this TV? The picture still looks OK, it's mostly noticeable on bright colors, so I would rather not spend a lot of money. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Its going to be a serious pain to clean a fresnel of that size. Your best bet, IMHO, is to scan your local craigslist and hope to find someone unloading a compatable RPTV of that size, and salvage the screen from their TV. With HDTV out these days, there are lots of RPTVs that people are just dying to give away.
