Alright,

So the room I am going to use for my media room is crazy small and I would like to use one of the sides of the room as the actual projection area.

My question is will it be weird having a projection surface bigger the the projection for like blackout cloth etc?

the walls dimension I think...

Screen Height: 7 feet.
Screen Width: 9.41 feet.

Screen Diagonal Distance: 11.75 feet.
141 inches

hopefully I did the math right lol...

anyways I am wanting to fill the whole wall because it is and old building that someone attempted to remodel and did a terrible job the wall is very rough drywall with indents and mounds of putty that have been painted over... so would it be easier to re sheet rock? put up plywood and paint it? or just buy a screen and have it be away from the wall. I want it to be a smooth as possible while not looking as tacky as possible would rather have an option that I can go down. to the local store and get supplies but I guess I can wait if there is much of a benefit to a different setup online. any suggestions? I am looking to spend no more the 150 anyways thanks in advance

I'm not quite following what you're asking but if you're making a DEDICATED viewing room paint it all black or maybe a deep hue of red for optimal viewing. Figure out your screen size and paint the wall with one of the accepted kick-a__ formulae for screens with a flat black border. If you're so inclined make an adjustable border for those instances when you are gaming versus movie viewing.

if you go with a DIY screen, you can get 8x4 sheets of white panel board at HD and lowes for around $11. i have three together, a little wood glue in the seams, behr ultra pure white over top and it looks great. around $50 total including the paint.
