I assume that the yellow circled bits are for the lcd controller?
The problem I have is what to discard!
Is the board on the right (circled red) the one to discard?
Can anyone see any issues that could make taking the rest of it apart difficult?
I can't see any ffc issues in this monitor, so it could be one more to add to the list!

You have the same LCD as I had in my Samsung 151MP although my LCD controller was different. I can't give you any help there.
The metal fame that the LCD is in makes a perfect frame to mount in your projector. Remove the two screws on the circuit board on the back of the LCD. Remove the white plastic from the metal frame. Cut out the center and remove the two backlights at the top and bottom. You'll have to remove other stuff that will be obvious. Then snap the white plastic frame into the metal one. You should not have to remove the actual LCD.

You need to remove the back light.. you need to take the screws out of the lcd controller near your bottom yellow circle that connects it to the back light (the metal piece that says samsung tft lcd is the back light). Be carfull as that short piece is a circuit board and you don't want to force the board down or you will break the edge connectors!!
You will need all that other stuff except the plastics the white is most likly part of the back light. the gray plastic you probably wont use unless you can think of a way to use it to mount the lcd and you have room for it.
Also looks like you need to still take off your control board for volume, power, ect.

also, hopefully you noted which way the cabel (top circle) plugged in to the bottom circle. as you will need to reconnect these once you put it in your box.

which monitor is that? samsung 151s? looks like the same one as in the 151mp like fluke420 said, it is easy to finish striping, there are two tiny screws that hold the circut board down, remove them and carefully swing the circut board up, the foil is an RF sheild and can be left there, remove the plastic and save it for later, remove the lights, metal sheild, diffuser, etc. you should not have to peel anything. after all is out cut the center tabs out of the plastic and snap it back into the metal frame to hold the LCD in. this is a great LCD to work with as far as the circut boards and minimal ffc issues. see inside of mine.
