Hello again LLers..
seems as if I end a topic and immediately begin another one totally different laugh.gif

Here are some pics to better illustrate my concern:

1st pic: electronics in its "case" and cable I want to extend:

2nd pic: better look at the cables!

So, the electronics are going to be in the back of the projector, but i want an IR receiver in the front so that people could point the remote control to the projected image and the IR signal would bounce back to the front of the projector!

The wires are straight, then theyre wrapped in some kind of round tubular magnet, then theyre all like.. threaded? is that even the right word?

well.. question is, is it ok to extend these like 1m?

CHeers! biggrin.gif

I would say no you shouldn't extend them 1m or your image will look distorted

Hey mdmfootball!

Actually, those connections dont have much to do with the connection that goes to the LCD, heres a pic!

I guess theres no problem with the signal, at least the video signal, I originally asked that in the first post because maybe if i were to extend cables, the remote, for example, would stop working because of the cable's longer lenght.

1m should be safe. Can you solder? It would be best to use a soldering iron and flux to extend the cables.

Thanx arkcom!!

So do you think i should extend the part where the cables are straight? Or after the magnet where the cables are all threaded?

Hmm Straight part.. right?
