I am wondering whether anybody has ever tried to develop a DIY version of an electrically switchable polarisation modulator like the Stereographics Z-screen or the NuVision SX product lines.

Obviously, some special LCD modules (or arrays of these) are used in order to switch between left- and right (circular) polarisation. Any know - how about which technologies are used for that purpose would be highly appreciated !
