OK -jumping into this.

I have been reading and I "think" I have the #'s down. But I would appreciate if somebody can look them over.

I am going to start simple with a 15in HDTV that is a very easy to remove. But I plan on grabbing from the local flea-market any 15in LCD to "play with". I ultimately want to do a ceiling mounted Haas design, but will start with your basic box to get the measurements down.
Here are the parts I am about to order….

Element 15.4" FLX-1510 LCD TV
S15 Projection Lens Triplet 320mm
220mm Fresnel
317mm Fresnel
LL/Vue 400w eBallast
65K T15 Bulb

The room I have is not very large –the screen I plan on projectring to is only 5ft wide. My brother who is very good at woodworking will have different dimensions. He’s interested on making one so we will do them together. So we plan on your basic box then refine the measurements and go for a Haas design with the ballast outside.

The figures I got from FocalCalc are
LCD 15.40 mm
Fresnel Gap 25.40 mm
Fresnel FL 317.00 mm
LCD Distance 392.19 mm
Triplet FL 320.00 mm
Screen Distance 5.57 in
Screen Size 72.00 in

So before I start burning a hole in my credit card……let me know if I’m goofing up somewhere.

Thanks in advance
sdubb
Looks good make sure you get the oversized or BIGGER fresnel lenses because the standard one wont capture all of the 15.4 lcd

Ya see! That's why you ask smile.gif

So the Pro 220 Fresnels then - also with this preceived setup, will the standard triplett work with the 15.4 Wide of do I need the Pro lens?

No not the Pro 220 fresnels. If you use the standard triplet you need the 220mm and 330mm fresnels from www.3dlens.com A395a and A395b

You can use the standard triplet but the throw will be very short. The Pro triplet or an 18" Beseler will capture more light and allow for a longer throw. For either of those 2 triplets you'll need either the Pro Fresnels or the 220mm and 550mm from www.3dlens.com
