I think I know why this is happening but I wanted to make sure. I ran 3 coax cables to my projector for component. Mainly I use it for the DirecTV and the Xbox. When the xbox goes to a black screen like right before it swiches to Media Center mode, the projector seems to loose lock on the signal and then takes several seconds to get the new image back. I think this has something to do with too much signal loss over the run but I just wanted some opinions on how to fix this. I will eventually use both the DirecTV and Bluray on HDMI when I get my switch fixed but for now im using the pre-amp as a switcher.

I dont know about xboxes for sure, but this probably means that the xbox is actually not sending a video signal for that moment, I know my PS2 does that sometimes too, have you tried this out on another device, possibly a TV hooked up component? If you arent seeing any other issues I doubt there is any problem with the run. On decent (Belden precision video) cable ive seen perfect component runs of hundreds of feet. The only thing ive seen screwing up component so far is line voltage noise... never run power parallel butted up to your video runs (or data for that matter), make them cross perpendicularly (is that a word?) if you must cross them.
