Hi guys i've been a member of lumenlab since the days you had to pay but I never had the time / money to build a projector. I'm ready to buy a Epson now but I wanted to know if there is a controller board that has a HDMI 1.3 built in. I know we have HDMI but I don't know if it's 1.3. I also need a 'deep color' monitor which basically means it support 36 bit color, I think they all do. Before I spend 2k on a projector can anyone tell me if I can build one? Thanks.

I would up the price the $2700 and get the optoma HD 1080p projector. True DLP HD with great contrast and value.

i cannot tell you about building a projector, but about buying one, no need to spend so much... i have been browsing with projectorpeoplecom they have an enormous variety...actually i registered here in this forum to seek for advise on prioritize contrast rate or resolution...for example sony VPL-AW15 offers a stunning 12000:1 contrast rate but low ? 1100 resolution...panasonic PTAX200U 6000:1 and 2000 resolution...whereas optoma HD72 5000:1 and 1300 resolution, all of each for the same price=1299 usd ! IF someone reads this IŽll appreciate an advise as well on which to choose... it seems before the criteria was on major resolution but lately iŽve seen the contrast rate is the thing, who can tell which to put first ?

It sounds like you are giving lumen output, not resolution.

I have bought from ProjectorPeople before and they are great! I got my NEC 240LT there, which is for sale haha. But they really recommended the Panasonic PT-AE2000U it is an amazing 1080p setup. Been thinking of buying that myself.
