Hi,
I am a Master Fabricator(Tig welder,CNC mill/lathe machinist, Brake press operator, CAM programer, NDT, GEometrical Inspector)
from Phoenix,AZ 27 years old. This is my buld of a 15" haas stlye

I am using A 15" gateway XGA I got on ebay for ($28.00 shipped(it had bad bulbs)
completely stripped both sides anti glare, using distilled water 24 hr soak, worked perfectly

, a Valeo HID ballast($38.00 ebay)and bulb from A 2007 AUDI, voltage input is 13.3 volts @ 45 watts
=93 lumen per watt @ 45 watts,overdriven from stock 35 watts,for a total of 4185 lumens!!
I will be using a 200 watt microATX power supply for this light

,317 and 220 LL fresnals , triplet lens($66.00 LL shipped) (modified 3rd lens, replaced with Pro optics from a Canon Rebel )

Encloser is 100% Aircraft Grade 6060-T6 And 6060-T651 aluminum, Outer shell .062" thinkness(sides),
.025"(top and bottom)
Billet Lens carrier, keystone support, front and rear (fan and lens carriers), side supports.



Programed on 2007 Gibbs CAM, Master CAM,

Machined On HAAS GR-15 gantry CNC, And HAAS VF2-SS High speed machining centers
Side Panels formed On a NC AMADA FBD-1030 100 ton brake press
ALL dimensions held to +,- .010"

I am curious, how did you overdrive the ballast ?

I believe that it's the bulb that is overdriven, not the ballast.

I think it would be more like, the bulb is overdrove with an overdriven ballast, since what you would be doing to overdrive is get the ballast to output a higher wattage, but I really don't know for sure, I could be way wrong.

there are 2 ways
input voltage on the ballast seems to work the best
12.3v is stock I have it at 13.3v


2nd method is to make th ballast see more than one bulb,
I use a resistor for this

I ended up using both methods for a total of 45watts output

the odds are very good, Since I have all the cnc programs already.
i just dont know where to start the bidding at dry.gif
