I'm a big fan of the projects here, I'm in the beginning phases of doing a 15.4" projector, and can't wait.
After that, I plan on finishing up a CNC machine, ala Joe2000chevy 2006 R2 designs, which look fantastic. I figure that I'd like a router to use with building my projector case, so will be looking about for one that I can use for that, then switch into the CNC project afterwards.
Are there any recommendations? I read a few threads down about Joe using a Hitachi 2.25hp one (which sounded like a steal tbh), but I'm not sure of the model or anything to look it up.
I had a read through a lot of the threads here, but nothing stood out recommending anything.
I'm currently eyeing up this Ryobi cheapie: 1200w Plunge router
I haven't been able to find the proper specs on it, but the next model up is apparently a 2hp, so I'm assuming this is 1.5ish.
What sort of things would I look for in a compatible one for the CNC? Would this be a decent choice or should I look at spending more? I know it's usually a case of 'you get what you pay for', but I'm a firm believer of 'diy = awesomeness at cheap rates', so yeah.
Thanks for any tips
Max
