Hello Everyone,

I bought the InFocus LitePro 550 a while back in the hopes that the 7.2" HD panel would materialize but since it may not be happening I was wondering if anyone knows of a good strippable 7 to 8" LCD panel that is either 800 x 480 or 1024x768? I would prefer just getting the controller/lcd panel as buying the monitor usually tends to be more expensive.

I see most people who get 7 or 8" panels get the low res portable dvd players and that's not really the route I'm looking for.. I want at least native DVD resolution.

The original lcd in the 550 was a VGA panel, 8.6" I believe...so anything that would fit in that slot at the aforementioned resolutions or higher is acceptable. If a 8" 800x600 is easier to come by then so be it...

thanks!

the lilliput panels do not meet the requirements for resolution...they are all 480x234 which way too low.

Izzotek sells a 1024x768 7" panel. But I think it is expensive (about $280 + shipping) and it only has VGA / S-video / Composite inputs. No component.

That is a 800x480 screen with a max "supported" resolution of 1024x768.

Another possibility is to further research the 8" or so portable dvd players but concentrate on the better name brand items, like panasonic or toshiba rather than. I see that the resolution on those units tend to be higher than their audiovox and insignia counterparts.
