Looks very cool. Is this a new distribution? I wasn't aware Linux had a fully functioning frontend OS...

Linux has 2 fully functioning front ends in OS form. KnoppMyth / MythDora @ Freevo Live.

You just need to install them during a new moon in a circle of universal remote controls & need to sacrifice a windows media center install disc in order to get them to work correctly. tongue.gif

This one works I've seen it first hand, we haven't tried the follow me function yet as I'm too cheap to buy the remote from fiire.com but a buddy of mine rebuilt his system for this and introduced me to it.

I was actually at the website a few days ago & was thinking of trying it out.
The Freevo Live distro was just updated & could be promising so i'll be playing with that this weekend.

Yeah I just finished the video. Took me about 4 hours to watch it (Hey i am at work and all. Plus I was keep on rewinding it bc every minute or so I'd be like "NO WAY!" and go back to see it again!). Well I just got my computer running last night, found some online tutorials on how to dual boot, so I might give it a shot this weekend. Also I am VERY interested about those thin clients. Never heard of them, need to do more research. How cool would it be to have the PC in the basement next to the PJ, and Clients through-out the house running the TVs! Now wondering if it will be able to transmit HD movies to the client? Looks like i have a few hours of reading to do this weekend. Boy do I need a girlfriend laugh.gif laugh.gif

Isn't that just the hacked version of Pluto Home?
I see it uses MythTV to play televison and record programs.

I'll just stick with my MythTV system, works perfectly fine for me, and I have no need to have videos following me around the house.

EDIT: It is, I just saw the Pluto Admin menu item listed on a screen, along with a MythTV Setup menu item listed.

The thin clients are from fiire.com but, they are $890 if someone could find an alternative to those I would be all for it.

If what i know about thin clients is correct (and it may very well not be) They are just small computers that boot off a network. In that case any older computer with the ability to boot off a network can be used as a thin client ,although by size it might be a thick client? Ok, puns aside, if space isnt to much of an issue i think and old computer with netboot capabilities would work nicely.

That's about right.
However, it still needs enough oomph to decode video.
I don't know if this uses X11 or frame buffer & vidix.

Anything over 1ghz should play standard def. Put one of these in anything and play HD.
