I found an abandoned 56" Panasonic RPTV in the trash. It is in decent condition, however the screen was gashed.' I removed the screen, plugged it in, and it seems to be in good working condition. I draped a white sheet over the screen to see if the picture was OK, and it appeared to be fine. So I am looking to install a permanent screen, but really don't know what material would be best for the job. Quality, cost, and availability would all be considerations. See pictures below. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I'd suggest you try some top-quality "drafting mylar." I've used this for quite a while now and the results are great. I wouldn't change for anything. Here is a link to what I use:

You can buy this stuff in large arts supply stores. Its sold out of a roll for about $5 per foot, wide enough to cover your screen. It would cost you about $25 to cover your screen area.

Good luck!

Hi lesavoir, thanks for the reply! I contacted a number of local arts supply stores, however none carry a large enough sheet in stock. I would need a sheet approximately 50" by 30" to cover the screen. I ended up purchasing two oversize 42" x 30" sheets. The sheets work fantastically biggrin.gif , but there is a very clear seam mark down the right side of the tv since I had to use two sheets sad.gif . 30" x 20 yd rolls of drafting mylar seem to be available from ~U.S.$100, but that is 14 times as much film as I need! Do you have any recommendations? Thanks again!

Hi, I can bought it here for you and mail it. The arts supply store where I bought it is 5 mins walk from my work. If you're interested, send me a PM and we could arrange.
