2 questions here that I have never seem to have come across hopefully somebody will answer these. Why are people not putting the mirror after the triplet or very few I should say? Is it to keep it clean inside the box seems as if you could save money by using a smaller FS mirror? and the second question is why are people afraid to AG strip if you remove the polarizer like I did just get a small piece and put it on the triplet this should save money also small piece of quality polarizer? I did both of these things on my 7" projector and I think it looks GREAT, but please let me know the reason people are not doing this.

I will use the mirror after Triplet, since the PJ will stand vertical in the attic, and reflect
towards a mirror mounted on a hatch in the roof that can be closed when not watching
movies etc ph34r.gif ....I hope it is a god way to do it.

Just cosmetics, it's the old OHP look that doesn't appease the eye. IMHO, it would be more advantages to have the mirror after the triplet since there is less tolerance for optics misalignment.

Cool My 7" doesnt look so bad I just like that I dont have to have somethig to put projector on to make it high enough just moving the mirror I can adjust the height of the projected image smile.gif

Heh. Sure you can adjust he height, but that's just the same as tilting the box, you still have focus issues top and botton, and keystone to adjust, but that's all doable.

Personally, I like the aesthetics of the mirror inside the box, but it is just an aesthetic preference. Both work equally well.

For a polariser, though, I think that should have as few optical elements to pass through as possible, since every surface that light passes through will have an effect on polarisation.

Well as far as my 7" I dont have any probs with the focus as I move it higher or lower maybe cus its so small?? The point I was making with the polarizer on the triplet was that if you stripped as many layers off the lcd and bought a small piece of the "good stuff" high contrast or what not why are not more people doing this seems like lots of people are pulling the polar and stopping when the have pulled it up I say if you are even thinking about it then try it if it goes bad the only thing you have to do it buy a small peice for the triplet it seems like a win win situation wether you try it or not. If you dont pull it up GREAT if you do buy a small piece to cover the triplet smile.gif

oh I guess if youare spining the triplet to get it focused could cause problems "oreintation of polarizer" didnt think of that but I guess once you get it exactly where you want it "set it and forget it" thats what I did smile.gif
