Full Version: How Do You Attach Your Frame To The Wall?

I just finished up a painted wall screen with tiddlers help. Im about to put poly, wrap 1x3 s in fidelio velvet, but im clueless on the easiest way to assemble and mount the frame to the wall. Can someone help me out?

I used velcro.

If you are asking how to attach the wood frame to the wall, one standard method is to use cleats.

Actually, they were asking what the best way is for attaching the border to the wall. They have already painted the screen directly onto the wall.

Thanks for the clarification, but is there any reason they couldn't use cleats to hang a wood frame made of 1 x 3s?

How would you do the top? The cleats would extend into the picture, unless theres another way to put them.

Well, you could always make the cleat no thicker that the top cross beam. It probably isn't the best idea, though, I'll admit tongue.gif

I beleive I have read where people use brad nails (finishing nails) and put them right through the felt and into the wall. The heads make such a small hole it does not show once the head is set into the wood. The hole in the felt fills back in over the nail head.

The nice thing about a velcro method is you can easily remove the border if you want to repaint the screen.
