I am wondering why EXPERTS like the lumenlab donot peel off the antiglare from the LCDs used in the EVO considering the change in the brightness it brings to the image ?????

well, if i remember correctly, the EXPERTS mentioned somewhere that the manufacturer of the LCD's would charge more to not put the anti-glare on.

I am wondering why SOME PEOPLE cannot be polite when asking questions, considering that they do not own the forum they are posting on????

tgreenwood= I didnot intend to demean or annoysomebody.May be the words i had used offend you but mind it that was not my intention.Since english is not my mothertongue i use the word that comes to my mind.
Donot you agree with me that any DIYer can do whatever one feels like as nobody shoulders any responsibility explitly though the moral responsibility is inevitably exists. As for LL they donot reveal everything even the facts are partly true. You know it well i guess. My fresnels are 1.8-2.0mm short .

Lumenlab would never deliberately mislead anybody by giving facts that were 'partly true'.

If you think your fresnels are actually shorter than the specified size, I suggest you contact Customer Service. Everyone makes mistakes, and manufacturing is never a perfect process. It is unfair to accuse them of hiding facts from you because of a simple manufacturing error.

As for LCDs:

Only very few manufacturers actually manufacture LCD panels, Lumenlab buys theirs in from another company. Small LCD panels like the eVo uses are almost always used as actual displays, for small televisions or in-car TVs etc. So they are made in the factory with antiglare.

I'm sure Lumenlab could have screens especially built that didn't, or could strip it off for you, but either way would add substantially to the price of the projector. This way you get a cheaper projector, and if you want to remove the AG you can do it yourself (the forums have guides in on how).

This forum is a community of people who want to help Lumenlab and the DIY Projector industry. I am sorry that you feel the need to insult Lumenlab, but this is not the place for it. Your comments could be potentially hurtful. Please think before you type.

I'd like to add that AG removal is still listed as an "extreme mod" -- meaning that it's something that can be done, but that does not HAVE to be done.

LL has never in any official capacity listed that this is something that you have to do. Many many people have built satisfactory to excellent DIY projectors without ever having removed AG material from their LCDs.

Does it help? In some cases, yes. Other people have reported that it makes no discernable difference. I saw no discernable, or, in fact measurable difference when I stripped my AG, except that the scratch in the AG layer no longer projected onto my screen. That's it. So for me, the only reason that I wanted to remove my AG was because of that scratch, and in the end, that's the only benefit that I got.

Thanks SupraGuy.I trust you .I think now i can conclude that AG removal may not work wonders and hence LL doesnot carry that out.
