I am running my DIY projector using a laptop. Has anyone tried TV tuner or capture cards to feed in composite/svideo/component? I have a N64, sega genesis and BEV dp301 receiver I would like to run on the BIG screen.

Some people report good results with BeyondTV & Hauppauge combo. However, this is on a PC. I was wondering if similar results could be obtained with a laptop PCMCIA card ...

p.s. What about USB tv tuners?

I finally purchased a Viewsonic N4. I am just a little bit concerned about the 60 Hz (instead of 75 Hz) at 1024x768.

Anyways, if you still have a decent image with a laptop PCMCIA card, I would still be curious to know. A friend of mine is also building a projector and is looking into this same issue as I have.

I think that USB connected tuner/capture cards are becoming more and more common, since PCMCIA really isn't used as much as it once was.

I have an ATI tv-wonder. and it's no good. You get a 1 seconds difference for the video recording feature..

It mostly sucks. biggrin.gif

Oh, but for watching tv, it's alright. No gaming possible, though.
