Hello,

I'm building a wireless music server into an old Philco radio and I need a little help with wiring re: powering the touchscreen LCD.

I'd like to take the 12v off one of the PSU's molex connectors, using only the input plug from the LCD's original 12v psu. However when I stripped the wire, it has an outer wire and and an inner wired sleeved in white.

Can I be pretty sure the inner (white) wire is common?

Nevermind. I think I have it sussed out. The inner wire should be the live and outer wire is ground/common. FWIW, I'm roughly following the guide spelled out here.

Yeah the internal wire will be +12v. Outer shielding is almost always common or earth, rarely live.
