Hello
On the cover of the Sept07 WIRED which coveres Halo3, there is an IP address. I checked it out and found a hidden Halo3 web site. The IP is 206.16.223.63. There is also what seems to be a number for a Telnet but I cannot get through because its always busy but I got through to a modem on my cell phone earlier today.

THE SITE-------
On the site, they claim to be an orginization looking for aliens. They say that they are tracking an acient race with posibly round heads. Where things get interesting is on the Evidense page. They mention that all the items are round...this releates to Halo. At the bottom there is an update that says that a new artifact was found in Africa. Keep in mind that Halo3 will be taking place in africa. Also, they give another IP where an image of the artifact was found...this page is Bungies page hence the Bungie logo at the bottom. Once you enter your age you get this spining index thing. It had 3 sides. You will notice these circle designs on the sides. Click on them. There are 2 clickable icons per side. They will download various logs and pics from what seems to be a warning message from someone. One of them will also activate a video. This...its Halo3.

I ask that Halo fans go look at this and tell us what you think of these messages and tell us any other references to the game.

Also, the phone number that responds with the modem sound is 1.888.778.5672. If you are skeptical about this information I provided look at the cover of the new WIRED Magazine. The IP is below and to the left of Master Chiefs helmet and the phone is to the left of his left knee. Some frineds noticed this today while we where at the WIRED Nextfest.

Gotta say thats pretty fricking wierd... Wana post that picture of the alien thing?
TheDeepFryedBoot
OK, I cannot upload the files because even when zipped they are all too big. Here is a pic abount Flood Containment that I found. FYI, the flood is a parasite race in halo for those of you who dont know.
mdmfootball
Just take a screen shot of the pictur when you have it pulled it then copy it into something and save it. (screen print is on the top row after f12)
TheDeepFryedBoot
OK, here are the pics. I have both the first site and the site with the strange thing open.

This is the one with just the index spinning.

This is the video playing in the index thing.

Is this stuff real, or what? Is it made up for halo?

It looks like its a publicity stunt for Halo3. The IP address I found was on the Cover of WIRED Magazines Sept07 issue. This issues main theme was Halo3 and the pic on the cover beside the IP is mater chief.

LOL laugh.gif No, I am not crazy. I just find this type of publicity stunt very amusing and creative. I like trying to uncover clues like this. There is a game called Portals that did the same thing. An explaination of that can be found here. Wikipedia Article on Portal The Apature Science Site is rather neat. You need to type login to start and use any login name...the pass is portals. Type apply and type "thecakeisalie" after you have applyed and it askes for your ID number or just after you have loged in. Also...for a fun response...type help.

Yeah when i saw that the address was an IP, it reminded me of all the emails i get saying "Dude, i hope her husband doesnt see this or your busted" and The link is to some fictional youtube address, but it actually takes you to an IP then a virus gets loaded.

But if this is for real, thats cool. Like years ago Microsoft had an ad in a mag for a new product, and the "backdrop" to the ad was ascii binary. So my friend (who reads binary like english) said it read "If you can read this, apply for a job with us" I love seeing "hidden" things 99.99% of people dont get laugh.gif

This is real. Look at the cover of the current WIRED magazine which is bright neon orange. There is an IP address to the left of Master Chiefs helmet and it is made to look like some design statistic. Just take the IP and type it into your web browser and look if you want. I promise it is nothing malicious, WIRED would never allow that.
Garfing Sharks
It's like the exact same thing they did with the "Ilovebees" website for Halo 2.

oh i can ensure it's safe... just natural reaction for me.... lets just say I'm very well familiar with the reformat and windows install screens tongue.gif Back in the day before FireFox, I would basically monthly, start the reformat, grab some lunch, start windows install, take a nap, then have everything reconfigured in time for the Simpson's.
Aerosoul22
good find. biggrin.gif looks like wired has lifted some ideas from 2600.

Wow thats really cool i just got a chance to look at it. At first I was like this webstie looks pretty cheezy (the first one) but then when I got to the second one with bungie on it was pretty interesting. Nice find!
TheDeepFryedBoot
Not that this is hidden but Bungie just released a digital diorama that is really cool.
