Whats the difference between and 3 and 4 axis mill? I googled it but did not come up with an answer. I can only find the difference between and 3 axis and a 5 axis.
Is Joes 2006 model a 3 or 4 axis?
EDIT:
And another question. Lets assume i wanted to build a CNC machine, the HOBBYCNC PRO Chopper Driver Board Kit and 3 or 4 Stepper Motors should be all I need? (Exept a case and powersupply of course)
As far as the difference between 3 and 4 axis. The 4th axis is usually (almost always) a rotary table of some sort,it could rotate horizontally or vertically but almost always the horizontal rotation would be the 5th axis.
Though a 4th axis could mean your spindle can be rotated to different angles.
In the professional CNC world
this the top one is a 4th/5th axis rotary table the bottom would be a 4th only.
