Here's the link.

Looks huge, but plays both formats. Interesting and expensive. Makes me wonder how
different the technologies are... ?

i thought they already had one bpd 1000??

The bdp1000 is from samsung, and it wasn't all that great (could not play everything from the two formats). The lg supposedly can play all of the features on either format.

I'm not surprised by the price. When I got into dvd, I forked $700 for a proscan (still works, oddly enough) and about as much for a hybrid LD/dvd player. Wait about a year, it'll be half the price with more features.

I just use game consoles as my hi-def players. Have my PS3, and if Blu-Ray looses I'll just buy the HD-DVD addon for the 360.

HD-DVD has already lost.

I hear if you PM the mods they will change your screen name for you. I don't think "Sony Fanboy" is taken yet.

HD-DVD has not yet lost. There were 90,000 HDDVD players purchased last last weekend when they were on sale.

Fanboys SUCK. Don't be one.

hahaha...

I was avoiding replying to that so as to prevent any long winded discussion, but, I agree, it is definitely not decided yet. In fact, Sony's CEO just about rolled over on it recently and almost said that they have lost.

Personally, I don't care, because I haven't invested in either yet, and won't, until it's finally decided who the winner is for consumers on this: VHS or Betamax

oops... wrong war! laugh.gif tongue.gif

hey its just my speculation... thats all... it would be too bad if the inferior format won again. As far as the fanboy thing... im just talking about superior and inferior devices... which is pretty cut and dry in both the hardware and the media. Funny that I got so many defensive responses... fanboys? personally I think that in the video games arena, im all for competition... it forces them to actually push the limits of the hardware to make a better game. I am personally looking at the different formats based on storage on recordable media... its really more important to me than whos pushing what... to them its just a big game of chess, and the pawns are the early adopters, in the end one will just switch to the other format... no big deal.
